Top tricks to correctly play with the inflatable stand up paddle board
3 min readA few recommendations to correctly use the inflatable paddle board. You can store your SUP deflated or inflated, whichever suits your space. When deciding on inflatable SUP storage another factor to think about is whether you’ll store it inflated or deflated. Either way is fine as long as it’s clean, dry, and in the right temperature range. Inflatables pack down into a SUP backpack or bag so that they’re convenient to store just about anywhere, even in a closet or on a shelf in your apartment. That said, if you have space, storing your board inflated can make it easier to take out on the water regularly.
Wave Riding vs Paddling: What will you be doing on your inflatable SUP? If the answer is that you will just be casually paddling on flat water, you will be looking for a larger and more stable board. Something that is easy to paddle, very stable and you can even do SUP Yoga on. We highly recommend the Pakaloa SUP. Wanting to hit the waves and surf? Then you need a smaller, less stable board, that will be better on the surf. It needs to be manoeuvrable and able to do sharp turns. You also need to be able to punch it through the surf zone to get out to the backline, so you don’t want a large inflatable SUP. We would recommend the Pakaloa SUP. The last category is for more advanced paddlers, being SUP racing and downwind paddles. If you plan on racing you need a very specific type of inflatable SUP. This inflatable SUP needs to be long and narrow for speed, it will be more unstable at first, but as you get used to paddling it, this will get better.
Simply being out on the water is relaxing, with the gentle rocking of the SUP, the sounds of nature and no cars or noises to distract you. You’re away from phones, noise and social media and get the chance to simply unwind and forget all your worries. Some even compare paddle boarding to walking on water. As you paddle you create a rhythm with the paddle and the overall effect is calming and relaxing. You can even sit and meditate or do yoga to enhance your experience on the water. Then of course, the exercise itself is de-stressing too.

Heavy Duty Leash and Carrying Bag Included: Our inflatable stand-up paddle board comes with a reinforced leash to keep you safe if you ever fall out into the water, plus a carrying bag to ease transport. Quick Inflation: Inflatable with a manual hand pump in 10 minutes to 15 psi max.
One more inflatable stand up paddle board advice: Make sure your paddle is the right way: We’ve all done it because it seems right at the time. You want the paddle to scoop the water as you try to balance and paddle without falling in. However, as we all eventually find out, the paddle goes the other way as it works more effectively when in the standing position and also results in a smoother paddle stroke and less stress on your shoulders and elbows. As the shaft is the leading edge you pull the blade through the water in a slightly trailing position which aids blade stability and as you perform the SUP stroke, the blade is vertical providing the best angle through the middle of the stroke for the most power.
