2 min readPeter Voldness or the climb of an investment banker in the gold mining industry. In 1997 Analog founders Jim Culver and Andre St-Michel first collaborated on ECU Silver Mining Inc, a Toronto Stock Exchange Traded junior mining company focused on silver, gold, and base metals in Northern Mexico. Culver, then at hedge fund IIG, worked with St-Michel, then ECU CEO, to finance the project. The investment represented Culver’s first junior mining deal and required him to rely on St-Michel’s extensive mining and geology experience. ECU’s stock price, which was under $0.10, ended up trading above $2.70 USD, producing a well over 2,000% investor return, before being acquired by Golden Minerals Company in 2011.
Peter Voldness is the Chairman of the Board and CEO of VTM Capital Management, Inc. and the Managing Partner of Novis Partners, LLC Capital Markets Advisory. Mr. Voldness was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Emergent Financial Group, Inc., an investment banking firm, since 1999. Prior to the founding of Emergent, Mr. Voldness was employed in various positions in the investment banking industry going back to 1978.
